Allison Carvalho is a former domestic worker, housing organizer, curriculum designer, facilitator and Chief of Staff turned strategy consultant. She has worked with small businesses, academic institutions, residents, nonprofits and governments to develop strategic partnerships, equity strategies, community engagement opportunities and communication plans. Equity, accessibility and healing are at the heart of her work and the communities she comes from.

Allison has designed workforce trainings for public assistance recipients in New York City, led affordable housing policy and small business retention programs in Chicago and led public private partnerships for nonprofits and public agencies in Oregon. Allison has run successful fundraising and public relations campaigns for political candidates, cultural institutions and small businesses. Allison has designed curriculum and training for DePaul University’s Division of Mission and Ministry, Familias en Accion’s Community Health Worker Program, The Work First Foundation and Logan Square Neighborhood Association’s Affordable Housing Division. She led Community Benefit Agreements during the onslaught of cannabis legalization in Illinois and led Tribal engagement for Oregon’s Broadband Office. Her work has touched digital equity, affordable housing, cannabis equity, environmental justice, immigration, community service, student affairs, welfare policy, tribal relations and the rural/urban divide. As an empathetic but direct facilitator with experience in non-profits, small business development, public policy and public relations, Allison has a knack for identifying and improving equity across sectors.
